Have disable Secure Boot in Bios, have a WinPE iso image and used Rufus to prepare the USB. Selected "GPT Partition Scheme for UEFI" in Rufus. However the USB is not showing in the Boot Menu. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Don't set the partition active, either.

If you don't want to reinstall your personal software, consider fixing your system by reinstalling Windows 10 using installation media (see below). Go back to the previous version of Windows 10 Reverting to a previous version of Windows 10 may be an option, but only if you've received a Windows 10 update in the previous 10 days. If it's been longer than that, the "Get Started" button for this option will be grayed out. Advanced startup (including reinstalling Windows using installation media) The "Advanced startup" section includes an option to reinstall Windows 10 from a thumb drive or DVD. The "Restart now" button will restart Windows, but rather than booting normally, the system will give you multiple startup options, including a full reinstall of the OS. Once you initiate a full reinstall from installation media, you'll get three options for preserving (or not) your personal data and applications: Keep everything: Saves all data, files, and apps/settings (need lots of disk space) Keep personal data: Saves data and files but not apps/settings (need less disk space) Keep nothing: Deletes all data, files, and apps/settings (need little disk space) NOTE: Before choosing the option to reinstall, make sure you have a USB drive or DVD with the needed installation files.

If you set a supervisor password on your BIOS setup, you will be prompted to enter this password before accessing BIOS setup settings. However, if you forgot BIOS password in Lenovo laptop, how to enter BIOS setup settings? How to reset or clear the forgotten password? When you get problem with your laptop, you had better contact with the manufacture support and ask for their recommended methods to unlock your BIOS setup settings. But as I see in the official site of Lenovo laptop, they can't help to reset your BIOS password if you forgot the old password, they will recommend you to have the system board replaced. If the Lenovo Service Support can't help you to unlock your BIOS password, you can try with the methods below. Can try on Lenovo ThinkPad, IdeaPad, Yoga, and other series of Lenovo laptops. 3 ways to unlock bios password on lenovo laptop: Use the backdoor password Remove CMOS battery Short circuit SDA and SCL in security chip There is a backdoor password built-in to the BIOS by the manufacture.

I think there's something more serious then just this image as Windows Upgrades will not boot also. Just downloaded the Creators Fall Edition and that will not show up in the boot menu either. Message 9 of 20 2017-10-27, 23:45 PM Hi all, Surely someone has booted from a USB on this machine? It should not be this hard!! Any other ideas appreciated. If that fails try: 1) Update BIOS to at least version 5HCN31WW 2) Power + volume up keys when booting to enter bios.

I like the tablet but as you can imagine it has performance problems on daily tasks, like browsing on more graphical webpages or opening heavy PDF docs. I was wondering if I could plug a SSD disk to the USB and install the operating system over there. Do you think that will be possible? Any other thing I can make to improve system performance? Choose the Advanced option. Select all options except thumbnails. This will run 2 hours. Then defrag the drive. Message 3 of 10 2018-09-10, 13:35 PM What about connecting a SSD disk to USB port?
